Visitors from search engines
Video Tutorial on Creating an Advertising Campaign
As part of this advertising campaign, users will visit a search engine (Yandex/Google/Bing/YouTube/Mail.ru), enter a keyword, and be redirected to the advertiser’s website. Additionally, you can include several page views on internal pages of your website and clicks on ad banners after users arrive at the site from a search. The time spent on pages in such a campaign is random—ranging from 10 to 30 seconds.
You can order traffic from both organic (search) results and clicks on contextual ads (Google AdWords/Yandex.Direct).
Please note! When ordering visitors from search results, your website must appear on one of the first ten pages so that users can find it.
How do I order visitors from organic (search) results?
To create this advertising campaign, click “Promotion” – “Your Websites” – “Add an Advertising Campaign.”

Under "Promotion Type," select "Visitors from Search Engines" and fill in the required fields:
– In the Website URL (Address) field, enter the website you plan to promote. The address must begin with http:// (for example, http://sites.ru);
– In the “Daily Visits” field, specify the number of visits (clicks) to your website per day;
– In the “Distribute” field, select how you want to distribute traffic to the site:
- Natural – more impressions during the day, fewer at night.
- Even – impressions are distributed evenly over time.
- Only from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. – distribution within the 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. time range; impressions will be paused at other times.
Fluctuations (+/-) – random variation in the number of visits, either higher or lower than expected. For example, for 100 visits per day and a 5% fluctuation, the daily traffic distribution will range from 95 to 105 visits: Mon – 97, Tue – 103, Wed – 100, and so on.
The remaining ad campaign settings are configured as follows:
- Select the search engine you want to drive traffic from: Yandex or Google;
- enter the search term that visitors will use to find your site;
- specify on which page your site can be found (within the first ten pages of search results);
- specify what the site’s title looks like on the specified page;
- specify the number of additional clicks and the name of the ad banner, if necessary.
After filling in the required fields, click the "Save" button.
Please note that instead of the banner name, we specified a click on any link in the left column. This way, you can configure up to 5 clicks on the site.
If you don’t need a banner click but want to increase the depth of the session, simply enter instructions in this field (specifying where the user should click), and all subsequent clicks will be tracked on your site.
You can configure up to 5 clicks on your site by specifying another click instead of the banner title.
How do I order visitors from contextual advertising?
The settings are similar to those for the “visitors from search engines” ad campaign.
The “then visits the target site” field changes to “from contextual ads.”
Set the website position to 1.
To access the geotargeting settings, after creating the campaign, click the icon next to its name on the “My Sites” page.
In the window that opens, go to the “Geographic Targeting” tab.
When creating a “Visitors from Search Engines” ad campaign for search results, it’s important to consider the geographic nature of search queries.
There are two types of queries:
– location-dependent: for example, “buy a TV”—the region isn’t specified, so the search engine will determine it based on your device’s geolocation;
– non-geo-dependent: for example, “buy a TV in Moscow.”
Search results depend on the region from which the query originates.
If your website appears on the first page in your region, it might appear on the second or even the tenth page in another region.
Therefore, be sure to set up geographic targeting for the desired region. This significantly affects the effectiveness of your ads.
Search results are also influenced by your previous searches.
To get an objective picture of your website’s actual rankings, perform the search in incognito mode.
To find out where your website ranks in search results across different search engines and regions, use the TopVisor.com search engine ranking checker.
Please note! You can use keyword aggregation (grouping) within a single ad campaign. For a domain within a single ad campaign, you can add a group of keywords from a file or the clipboard.
